As a statewide coalition committed to advancing health for Alabamians, members of our coalition are regularly making presentations to advance AL-HAC's mission and attending meetings to collaborate with and learn from leaders in health and communities across Alabama.   • September 25-26, 2014: AL-HAC helped sponsor Fourth Cultural Competency Nursing Faculty Institute (CCFI) hosted at UAB

  • September 22, 2014: Two AL-HAC representatives invited to serve on the strategic issue work group “Optimize Healthcare Access, Availability and Utilization”, as part of the Community Matters 20/20 strategic planning process for Jefferson County

  • August 21, 2014: Attended “Health Workforce as an Economic Engine in Rural Alabama” wicked problem discussion hosted by the Alabama Statewide Area Health Education Center (AHEC) where Alabama’s need for comprehensive health workforce data repository was discussed

  • June 4, 2014: Attended the “HRSA announces new Bureau of Health Workforce” teleconference

  • April 22, 2014: Building Coalitions: The AL-HAC Journey presentation made at the ASNA Leadership Institute

  • February 20-21, 2014: Attended the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) 2014 Leadership Conference

    • AL-HAC representative participated as a judge in the Public Health Event and will be on the 2015 HOSA Advisory Board

  • February 3, 2014: Presentation to the Birmingham Black Nurses Association’s Open House on AL-HAC and the Alabama STARS

  • January 15, 2014: The Health Workforce Data Repository Committee held a conference call with the Indiana Workforce Center and member of the National Governors Association Building a Transformed Health Care Workforce: Moving from Planning to Implementation policy academy, and the North Carolina’s Sheps Center

  • December 4, 2013: Post Health Summit retreat was held

  • October 11, 2013: Presentation at the Alabama State Nurses Association (ASNA) 2013 Convention

  • October 4, 2013: Presentation at the Alabama Organization of Nurse Executives (AlaONE) Annual Leadership Conference

  • September 18, 2013: First Alabama Health Summit held

    • 60 stakeholders attended and collaborated to develop recommendations for the Alabama Health Action Agenda (AHAA)

  • September 16-17, 2013: Two AL-HAC representatives attended the RWJF’s Action Coalition Educational Meeting, Academic Progression, in Chicago, IL

  • September 12, 2013: Presentation at the 7th Annual Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama (NPAA) conference

    • Co-leads Dr. Ladner and Dr. Ratcliffe were recognized as recipients of the 2013 Nurse Advocacy Award

  • February 28- March 1, 2013: RWJF/AARP National Summit

  • October 16, 2012: members of the AL-HAC Executive Leadership met with the Executive Board of the Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA) on the IOM/RWJF Future of Nursing initiative and AL-HAC

  • September 21, 2012: “Center to Champion Nursing in America at AARP” presentation by Dr. Brassard to the Alabama State Nurses Association Annual Convention; 40 participants

  • September 20, 2012: “Alabama Health Action Coalition: Focus on the Consumer Stakeholder” keynote address by Dr. Andrea Brassard of the Center to Champion Nursing to the Alabama Organization for Nurse Executive’s Leadership Conference; 75 participants

  • April 16-17, 2012: Two AL-HAC representatives attended the Midwest Action Coalition Educational meeting in Minneapolis, MN
